Job Description

  • Manages the activities of the application development team
  • Contributes to strategic roadmap planning, solution evaluation, system/interface design and development/integration
  • Extends the real assets data strategy framework, data model/warehousing platform and investor/operational/management reporting service
  • Sets attainable goals to team members in order for the project to be finished on time
  • Provides guidance to team members to encourage work productivity
  • Makes sure the timeline is followed by the application development team
  • Manages multiple projects at once
  • Ensures appropriate procedures and processes are followed when it comes to application development
  • Represents the CFS Real Assets applications development team in meetings
  • Tracks and escalates risks/issues to Head of Real Assets IT
  • Participates in design and architecture control activities
  • Implements design plans, reviews unit tests, reviews code and ensures documentation is complete
  • Leads in efforts that pilot, evaluate, select, design and implement specific business solutions for real assets
  • Provides the development leadership to drive the technical effort across the teams, and to make critical technical decisions that impact the project delivery at large
  • Works closely with project management to assure adequate technical resources are assigned and issues are addressed to reduce the overall risk to the project
  • Ensures that a unified technical direction is followed and adhered to among development tiers (presentation, middle-tier and database) of the project
  • Understands business requirements and how to best leverage the technology to meet delivery goals according to schedule
  • Facilitates and participates in design discussions among architects and developers
  • Determine and deliver real assets business solutions, which align with overall IT Architecture
  • Establishes and advocates design and coding best practices, design patterns, and reuse
  • Obtains detailed understand of emerging AD technologies and frameworks in use for alternative investments
  • Assists in the development and ongoing evolution of a Real Assets IT architecture that balances current needs and positions for future needs
  • Addresses the IT architecture for assembling and connecting CFS Real Asset’s business with enterprise applications. Requires knowledge of new in-house applications, legacy applications, and third party applications

About You:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in either Information Systems or Computer science
  • 10+ years of experience with integrated real estate investment accounting and management systems (Yardi Voyager preferred)
  • Minimum of 15 years technical experience as a developer
  • Demonstrated ability to gain approval and communication of solutions and direction to varying levels of staff and management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaboration and consensus building among diverse groups
  • Lead roles on cross functional teams for major systems deployment
  • Expert level data modelling in private markets (real estate equity and debt preferred)
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
  • Expert in maintaining MS SQL and/or Oracle databases including creation, data management, backups, security and performance tuning
  • Experience supporting 3rd party vendor applications and interfaces
  • Experience with Windows webservers (.Net. and IIS)
  • Well-rounded individual capable of performing several roles having ability to work in a fast paced, complex IT environment
