Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Sr. IT Manager WEB & Cloud Services the HRIS Analyst’s primary role will be provide IT support for human resource information systems (HRIS) including payroll software, employee records, and timekeeping software. Responsible for overall system performance and maintenance, including ensuring information security, testing updates, and improving process efficiency. The HRIS Analyst will be required to work with the users to troubleshoot and resolve issues as well as recommend and implement changes that will increase the efficiency of the HR applications. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented and have a working knowledge of HRMS ERP environments. 



  • Perform tuning and performance monitoring of applications.
  • Ability to work with, update, and maintain HRIS database
  • Perform shell scripting on a variety of platforms to perform system configuration changes, and automate processes.
  • Knowledge of business analysis tools and ability to create details reports from HR data sets
  • The position requires the following SQL skills:
  • Designing database tables and structures
  • Creating views, functions and stored procedures
  • Writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications
  • Creating database triggers for use in automation
  • Maintaining data quality and overseeing database security
  • Reporting and business intelligence tools like Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SAP Crystal Reports
  • Position requires working with colleagues across the IT department - from applications developers to network engineers - and with third-party vendors.
  • Data analytics requiring the ability to collaborate with Human Resources capturing data and running business intelligence reports.
  • Plan, test and implement application upgrades, from minor patch deployments to major version upgrades.
  • Work with IT Team Members supporting all IT related issues from general user desktops to primary servers.
  • Establish user application/access and monitor their security authorizations.
  • Develop necessary scripting, documentation for automating processes as needed.
  • Understanding of SQL and database performance measurements to interface with DBA for troubleshooting and performance improvements.
  • Monitor the performance and manage the parameters to give fast responses to users.
  • Map and design application environment including the connectivity and dependencies of the applications
  • Participate in performance tuning activities
  • Install and test patch and fixes to application environment.
  • Control privileges and permissions for access to applications.
  • Troubleshoot and provide assistance for users pertaining to Software access.
  • Follow and enforce change management processes
  • Research information as needed through documentation, manuals, and online help via Internet.
  • Interface with software vendors to obtain information and support for problems, coordinate systems repair as required.
  • Research technical innovations and assist in planning for the future direction of the Company and department.
  • Continuously examine the processes and systems used in this function to improve the effectiveness and quality of the work done.
  • Identify processes that need improvement, outline an appropriate solution and present solution to management, implement approved changes.
  • Provides production support, researching and resolving problems. Performing system testing for updates.
  • Gather HRIS data using built-in reporting tools or running SQL queries. Perform data analysis to ensure the system is properly recording specific metrics.
  • Create user documentation and procedures as needed and assist in training users on the functionality.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

  • Education and Experience:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree with major course work in Information Science or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years information technology system application administration in aHRIS environment. Experience with SQL databases and with Microsoft Server installation and administration. Experience in aLinux ORACLE database environment. General knowledge of computer technology and computer languages, good understanding of data base theory and design principals, working skills in system design and development, and basic project management skills are required to perform the duties of this position.
