Network Engineer (Must have active CCIE) Location: Miramar, FL Duration: 6 months+ Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US

Core Job Requirements:

  • Expertise with network engineering using products and services from Cisco Systems, Palo Alto Networks, Aruba/HPE and their associated management platforms.
  • Ability to perform capacity and resource planning, assess risks, and recommend, design and implement plans for network systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot to identify and correct malfunctions and help solve multi-faceted problems
  • Working knowledge of network security systems, applications, procedures, and techniques
  • Strictly adhere to change control procedures.
  • MUST have active CCNP
  • MUST have active CCIE 

Experience Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of work experience in IT
  • Knowledge of Cisco Networking and VoIP
  • Knowledge of OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP's basic components, VLAN's and Multi-layer switching


Core Skills:

  • Experience in telecommunications and network engineering and with telecommunications, network hardware and software components that match the technologies within Company's infrastructure landscape
  • Good verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Strong team player


Specialized Skills and Technologies:

Experience in:

  • Cisco Networking & VoIP
  • Knowledge of OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP's basic components, VLAN's and Multi-layer switching
  • Domestic travel can be up to 80% for weekend implementations



The Network Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist the Network Engineering team in creating a Design & Deployment Guide for new equipment installations for Warehouses, Corporate and Sales Offices.
  • Assist the Network Engineering team to ensure that all Bills of Materials are correct prior to ordering as well as ensuring that all equipment received is correct.
  • Configure all equipment prior to shipping to site locations and ensure that all configurations are 100% accurate.
  • Assist with the design of each location regarding telecommunications, physical cabling, network infrastructure wireless and VOIP.
  • Ensure that all new networking equipment is added to the appropriate network tools such as Solarwinds, Prime or Airwave.
  • Onsite implementation for all equipment during change windows.
  • Provides Tier 2 support. Involved in the evaluation of new products and services; provides input to supplier management team to establish and manage telecommunications and network-related vendor service level agreements.


Core responsibilities:

  • Research, evaluate and recommend network-related software and hardware products and services
  • Perform capacity and resource planning for network systems
  • Assess network risks and perform contingency planning
  • Provide input to supplier management team to help establish the telecommunications and network-related vendor service agreements
  • Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications and network systems (hardware and software)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical communications and network issues (tier two support)
  • Provide input to supplier management team to help manage telecommunications and network-related vendor service level agreements
  • Stay up-to-date on telecommunications, networks and network-related technologies
  • Serve as a technical resource for infrastructure initiatives that require telecommunications or network expertise
  • Coach others
