Title: Incident Commander Analyst 
Location: Miramar, FL
Duration: 6 months +
Compensation: $ 20.00 - $ 22.00
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US

Scope of work:
The Incident Commander Analyst is to be the decision maker during a major incident; delegating tasks and listening to input from subject matter experts to quickly bring major incidents to resolution. You will listen to in-call discussions and watch the incident-management channel to provide clear coordination, recruiting others to gather context/details. You will not be expected to perform any resolution actions, check graphs, or investigate logs.

The Incident Commander Analyst is responsible for understanding current business needs and working with Business and IT Teams to define and deliver comprehensive solutions. The Analyst uses business and technical knowledge to solve business problems by following the Incident Response process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drive major incidents to resolution by taking ownership and enforcing the Incident Response process
• Funnel Subject Matter Experts to the approved communications channels during major incidents
• Collect proposed actions, recap actions to be taken and delegate accordingly
• Gather information from Subject Matter Experts regarding the status of their supported areas
• Generate and email hourly incident status updates
• Create initial postmortem template for resolved incidents immediately after the call
• Designate incident postmortem owner and instruct the owner they will be responsible for looking up logs, managing the investigation, and keeping all interested parties informed
• Schedule preventative actions with Team Leads/Managers as needed
• Monitor postmortem progress by tracking activity, recommending actions and collaborating with postmortem owner
• Serve as a liaison among business units, technology teams, and support teams
• Develop and maintain incident trend reports
• Work within company methodology to coordinate activities in an efficient manner
• Ensures PagerDuty services, escalation policies and schedules are kept current
• Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to assist in implementing the Incident Response process
• Proactively work with internal and external teams to reach solutions and compromise on needs
• Analyze, research and implement solutions for problems within system current procedures
• Develop or re-engineer complex processes and build effective workflow maps
• Suggest areas of improvement within current systems and procedures
• Create business requirements and other documents to support business needs
• Document new processes when necessary and communicate

Required skills/competencies:
• Must have excellent verbal and written communications
• Must have excellent listening skills and the ability to anticipate where necessary
• Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management, both internal and external
• Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced work environment with exceptional time-management
• Able to communicate and implement business solutions
• Possesses advanced knowledge of IT terminology and computer concepts
• Understands ITIL/ITSM processes
• Comfortable with public speaking and training of the Incident Management process
• Organized ability to independently prioritize and follow-up on projects to meet deadlines
• Demonstrates a degree of creativity combined with analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
• Engages in the development process and understand proposed technologies and solutions; investigating and researching where necessary
• Capable of working independently and collaborating with subject matter experts, business partners and technical peers to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

Preferred Skills:
• Advanced Excel skills preferred to create formulas, utilize VLOOKUP, pivot table and charting functions
• Advanced PowerPoint skills preferred to create charted decks and present to Directors and Executives

Preferred Education:
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in the information technology industry
• 1-2 years' experience working in an incident response capacity; preferred but not required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related major; preferred but not required
