Location: Remote/East Coast Hours
Duration: Contract to Hire

Job Summary:

  • The Sr. Manager - Paid Media can balance strategic, creative, and tactical thinking, grounded in a deeply analytical mindset. You’ll be tasked with bringing the Company brand to international audiences in exciting and engaging ways to drive brand fame, awareness, and consideration. Equally important will be your ability to merge those efforts with data-driven performance marketing tactics to drive bottom-line revenue, inclusive of Sailor acquisition and thorough retargeting, based on comprehensive audience segmentation. Effective communication and organization skills are essential to this role, as you’ll work closely with S&M leadership, Analytics, MarTech, Email, and other teams to execute cross-team initiatives.
  • Must be able to derive, articulate, and act upon media insights, collaborate with internal and external partners, and effectively communicate strategy and performance with executive leadership. Responsibilities:

  • Drive brand awareness, acquisition, and highly segmented retargeted media plans, across S&M teams.
  • Oversee creation, execution, optimization, and reporting for comprehensive media plans.
  • Develop media plans across Paid Search, social media, Display Media, OOH, Linear & Programmatic TV, Print, Publisher-Direct, and other channels.
  • Partner with growth, digital experience, creative, email marketing, partnerships, and analytics teams to create unified marketing initiatives across all channels.
  • Lead experimentation and in-market hypotheses testing.
  • Execute audience segmentation strategy, utilizing in-market data partnerships, 3rd party data providers, and first-party CDP segmentation data.
  • Work with external agency teams, contribute to RFPs, and manage relationships with key tech & publisher partners.
  • Collaborate with IT, MarTech, external data partners, and data infrastructure teams to implement advertising tech, including ad servers, attribution platforms, and DMP/CDP technology.
  • Manage internal media team, oversee professional development plans, training, and fostering of Virgin culture (we work hard, and we work fun).

 

Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of brand and performance media management, 4+ years in digital marketing experience preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in media planning and buying in an agency or corporate setting required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Economics, or related field required.
  • Demonstrable track record of managing sizeable budgets, and complex, data-driven, media campaigns, with international experience preferred.
  • Experience working with data and analytics teams, with proficiency in GA360, Salesforce, and CDP platforms (Amperity preferred, but not required)
  • Thorough understanding of traditional and digital marketing best practices, including audience segmentation, creative alignment, real-time and cadenced optimization, etc.
  • Effective communication of insights, performance, and key messages through storytelling and visualization.
  • Strong leadership skills, with an ability to approach complex decisions with thoughtfulness, empathy, clarity, and transparency.
  • Intellectual curiosity and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail and an analytical mindset to find new opportunities and the ability to go deep on bid optimizations, advanced automation, creative iteration, etc.
  • Quintessential team player, driving projects across cross-functional teams, with a willingness to help with projects beyond the immediate scope.
  • Proficient in Google Docs (i.e. Sheets, Slides, etc.) or MS Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

     

  • Ability to work effectively across a matrix environment and influence without formal authority.
