Tell us a bit about what you do:
The jobs we cover in my department are all over the country, but some of the areas I spend the most time on are Colorado, Texas, Ohio, Virginia, and North Carolina.
Brief summary of your skills and/or specialties:
The skill that has allowed me to find success in my time with this role is my people skills. It’s very useful to be a recruiter who doesn’t come across as a recruiter. At the end of the day, the job deals with talking to people and building rapport, so being able to have conversations that are natural and not scripted helps a lot. Getting to know candidates outside of just their job and skills is easy for me.
What is an interesting/fun fact we would be surprised to learn about you?
I was born and raised in Florida and lived there for all my life. Moving to Charlotte and starting my job with TekPartners 3-ish months ago was my first time living outside of the state of Florida. I was living about 2 miles away from the Fort Lauderdale office when I was interviewing for the Charlotte office.
What is your best work memory?
Getting to know my coworkers and spend some time with them outside of work at happy hours and lunches.

My very first placement was a gentleman who expressed to me that he was having a hard time adjusting to civilian life after serving over 20 years in the military. He was nervous about finding his first job after retiring from the service, but I was able to help keep the process smooth and hiccup-free for him and helped him land a job in Colorado Springs. He was very grateful for my help and professionalism.
What makes TekPartners different from any company you’ve ever worked for?
I don’t feel micromanaged working as a recruiter here. Of course, we have weekly/monthly KPI goals, but I come into work most days feeling like I’m in charge of what I do and how I do it. It really opens it up for me to knock out goals in a way that works best for me. I get to choose which location I’m going to focus on each day so I can maximize results by working areas I have the best success in.

Since I’ve started in this role, I’ve come to realize the importance of Understanding the Urgency as a core value. Especially working on the Infrastructure side of things, things move fast and sometimes faster than you’re ready for, so you have to be on top of things and really make sure the line of communication between you and your candidates is constant and solid.
