Meet Niki Cox: Manager, Systems at TekPartners!

When did you start working at TekPartners? 

I first worked for TekPartners in February 2005 through July 2006 as a Recruiter. I kept in touch with Vito and Harris over the years and was fortunate to be able to come back to create our Immigration & Sponsorship program in June 2016.

What territory do you manage? If you do not manage a territory, tell us a bit about what you do.

When I first came back to TekPartners, I created, and currently manage, our Immigration and Sponsorship program which allows us to sponsor foreign nationals with visas for employment in specialty positions. In 2019, my role changed to more systems management which utilizes my previous HRIS management experience. I currently manage our LMS (TekPartners University and MindTickle), onboarding system (eStaff), and various SharePoint sites.

Brief summary of your own skills and/or specialties:

My specialties lie in Immigration & Sponsorship, HRIS/Systems, and Compliance.

What is an interesting/fun fact we would be surprised to learn about you?

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History with a concentration in 18th & 19th century French art & architecture and also pre-classical and classical Greek and Roman art. I also have a minor equivalent in fine art. I still do independent research to fuel my passion.

What is your best work memory?

My best work memory was presenting our new Immigration & Sponsorship program to the Executives and walking them through the SharePoint site that I created that would serve as a resource center for Recruiters and Account Managers.

At P2P, we are People helping People. Tell us about a time you really connected with someone:

I’ve been able to join Account Managers in meetings with clients when they have had some questions with immigration processes. It’s a great feeling to be able to explain complicated processes and procedures in everyday terms. Also, we’ve been able to jump in and “rescue” some of our clients’ foreign national employees with our Sponsorship program. This allowed the foreign national to remain in the US and allowed the client to continue working with them.

I think I relate to Have the Courage to Excel the most. I have an enormous responsibility in protecting the company by providing guidance to Recruiters, Account Managers, and Leaders, but also to our clients and consultants. Of course, I have to be knowledgeable and a be a subject matter expert, but I also have to not be timid and have the courage to speak up and advise to all levels on risk and many subjects that aren’t black and white with guaranteed outcomes.
