Key duties and responsibilities
- Develops, updates, and maintains s Risk Management tools, practices, procedures and policies to analyze and report risks, and to manage risks according to risk management framework.
- Executes key operational risk management activities
- Monitors and analyzes risks and mitigation and reports on these risks to the Vice President-Risk Reporting and Chief Operational Risk Compliance Officer, Americas Chief Risk Officer and SGL Americas senior executives.
- Provides risk mitigation guidance, facilitation and reporting to risk owners.
- Manages the operational risks activities relating to the business.
- May perform other duties as required.
Required experience & competencies
- 5+ years of Risk Management experience (may also include related experience in internal controls)
- Experience with supporting operational risk and compliance initiatives/activities
- Possesses strong communication and relationship building skills
- Clear, precise and persuasive communicator with expertise in analysis, problem-solving and goal achievement.
- Strong track record of developing and supporting direct reports.
- Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high pressure environment
- Ablility to maintain strong attention to detail coupled with a sense of urgency.
- Flexibility and commercial/business acumen.
- Solid financial analysis skills; proven analytical & problem-solving ability.
- Strong oral & written communication / presentation skills, including the ability to produce professionally written analytical reports to varying audience levels.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Successful track record in aligning with customers (internal and external).
- Strong Systems knowledge.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time - strong planning and organizational skills.
- Expert level ability in Excel & Access and demonstrated ability to improve processes.
